Hacker Pschorr Oktoberfest Märzen - 500 ml

At the time of the first Oktoberfest, the Bavarian brewing regulations from 1539 stipulated that brewing was only allowed between “Michaeli” on September 29th and “Georg” on April 23rd. Boiling caused a fire hazard in summer, which is why brewing was forbidden at this time of the year. In addition, bottom-fermented beer needs a temperature of 4-6 degrees Celsius for fermentation. Of course, nobody wanted to do without beer in the summer, so brewing was done in advance - the origin of the so-called "Märzen". The Märzenbier was brewed a little stronger as the last beer of the year, so that it could be sold during the summer.
